last zoo shot
i know, it's been done before. but it's always just so pretty. was editing today for the zoocation and dug this out. it's a fish pond for the tigers to jump in when it gets too hot for them. i can't imagine the horror the fish must feel at seeing a very, VERY, large orange cat jumping into the water.

You get such lovely rich colors. Do you do a lot of editing to achieve that? I'm not very good with colors yet as I've mostly been drawn to B/W work.
I love the light on their heads esp. the boy at far left.
This is one of my favorite photos in the same vein as yours:

shooting with the canon 5d - just usually underexpose pictures shooting at low ISO then pull out details. but honestly having the 5d makes a big difference over other cameras i've used.
Are you shooting in RAW?
What method do you use to pull out details? (If you want to keep your editing secrets to yourself, I'll understand)
no, not raw, just medium. i find that it's more than large enough of a file. as far as the actual toning goes, there's not as much required with the 5d. but if you underexpose images by a little bit then when you pull out parts of the picture (using levels or curves) it yields good results. send me a picture and i can show you on the hotmail account and walk you through it.
Oh, that would be wonderful - thank you! :)
