paddle out

Scores of people did a "paddle out" to commemorate one of the soldiers
killed in the recent Afghanistan helicopter crash. He was a surfer, and
in an effort to try not to identify people in the picture too well,
I overexposed the image (many there didn't want to be identified
due to their role with the military).

Technical note - this was done by a few stops overexposure and then
I brought down a little bit of the shadows to pull in remaining details.

This is super neat, were you shooting with a 300, 400 to get that kind of depth?? Reminds me a bit of Massimo Vitali's work on beaches, that over-exposed, kind of surreal quality. Nice shot!
