layers

there's so many ways to visually approach a subject. i usually gravitate towards intimacy but layers or colors in photography is something i'm weak at - i know i should get better at it so here's an attempt at layers.

i miss long lazy summers as a kid just about my only worry was how late i could get to stay up at night.

her car broke down helping her dad move some dirt as they planted trees.

she sighed, got out, walked around and opened the hood of her toy jeep. i'm not sure what she was checking out but me and her dad laughed at watching this unexpected surprise. a nice way to end the day today, sometimes feature hunting can be really fun.

been out sick this week

and i miss my momma. yeah yeah, i know - i'm a grown man but i still miss my mom when i'm sick. i miss her "tv dinners" too.

worked today on an illustration on lemon herbs - then i got to eat lemon cake made with the herbs. the cake was the best part.

i shot yet another person with their instrument today - this man was born wihout a right hand but has learned to play the heck out of the guitar - he's really amazing just how well he plays it - was recently on the howard stern show. while i really can't stand howard stern, i'm happy for the success this man is getting as of recent.

hanging with my dad. everytime i hear "cats in the cradle" i still get sad.

i spent part of today finishing editing for an upcoming project for father's day - here's an outtake of the dad reading to his son before a little league game with his father sleeping at his side.

a refuge of love

i recently finished with a disabled couple (he's blind and she has cerebral palsy) on a story following their relationship through their wedding.

the story is running soon and here's a picture from the end of their wedding night as they head back to their apartment.

father's day

on outtake from a piece i'm doing on a single father who is also taking care of his ill father - it's the man at left whom i'm doing the story on. it's an amazing thing to watch him take care of his dad. here he helps him wake up today.

the beauty and power of everyday life still continues to stir me with hope.
