is 74, and a stroke survivor. he used to play the sax professionally. after his stroke he lost the use of his right arm and had to relearn how to play the sax with just his left.

he now volunteers his time with a local hospital and plays for patients and staff - so i spent a day with him and did a minifoto story. here are a few from it.

more photoshop fun

here's another attempt at learning photoshop for illustrative purposes - this image doesn't mean anything really, it's just more for learning techniques now. i feel like a kid in a candy store learning all of this - or more specifically, like ross in a bean factory.

props to john galayda who is helping me learn how to use this thing called "photoshop"

he has some great illustrative work on his blog. check him out at:

photoshop fun

so i'm working on an upcoming illustration and i wanted to start working on some techniques i am trying to learn. here's a test round, and please note, this is an illustration with heavy use of photoshop, not intended to represent the reality of the original image.

we did a story on this woman who is fighting foreclosure. she's one of the thousands across the country which are going through this tough situation.

i am hoping that we will spend more time with her in something more long-term instead of a quick hit but here's a pic from the other day.
