back at work

just got back from a week vacation back home in nc where there is no snow and it was almost 70 degrees when i left.

here's an outtake from today.

update

finally have images up from the dominican republic trip on my site (see below for the web addy) - it's under mission of mercy on the update section in case anyone wants to check. still tweaking with toning as i did it from the laptop so if anything looks weird: color, hues etc, please feel free to lemme know.

no captions yet but the summation is i went with a medical team from connecticut for a week to the d.r. - the team provided medical care and surgeries to a community lacking medical resources.

it was great to have such access to the operating rooms and recovery areas, i'm grateful they entrusted me with the access, especially given today's restriction in the medical field.

i'm going ho-ho-home

leave in the a.m. for north cakalaky. it'll be weird not taking pictures and working after this blitz but it'll be great to see so many people i care about and have bojangles biscuits once again. here's an outtake from an assignment today.

so had to photograph for a story on seasonal display in store fronts. this guy just didn't seem too happy that christmas was coming.

this woman at left is suing a healthcare company claiming that due to negligence she had to get her legs amputated due to an unattended infection. the woman at right is only 38. i felt so sorry for them, but hopefully the picture will raise awareness of the problems of our nursing care industry.

had to shoot christmas cookies, which ended up being a challenge because the cookies we were working with for the assignment didn't link visually to the holiday as the cookies were from recipes that weren't in the line of traditional christmas shapes etc. but it was really fun trying to make up something that would work - left room on top of the photo where the headline will be on the page.
